A gift from the interwebs
Sometimes the interwebs offer up little gifts like this. Thank you.
Then, my friend, Colby, and I went to see the play Grimaldi King of the Clowns right after because her boyfriend is the lead actor (and because neither of us would pass up a chance to see ANY play). It was easily one of the best plays I have ever seen. As far as production goes it would probably be the most difficult to pull off, but they did it splendidly. The lead actor of the play, Rivers Shotwell, gave the best performance I have ever seen in my life. I’m talking Academy Award or Tony worthy performance. It was better than any actor I have ever seen on film or stage. Phenomenal. Everyone should remember that name. He’s going to be famous one day. After the play was over, I realized that the playwright of the play, Randall T. Murray, was sitting behind me THE WHOLE TIME. He probably overheard all my crazy ramblings about the theater. I shook his hand, and we spoke a bit about the play and himself. Then, when I told Rivers how phenomenal he was the look on his face was priceless. It was sheer surprise and appreciation. I thought I was going to cry because I know as an actor how much it means to have someone truly enjoy your performance. Then, I spoke to the director, Dr. Nancy Jo Humfeld, (who I have worked with before), and she invited me to go eat and hang out with the rest of the cast! It was wonderful, and everyone was great.
